From a design standpoint this is a major failing unless there is a 2nd half of the story that just hasn't been released yet. If you are ment to go on and do the mew game challanges starting at lvl 1 you can't get to the end game content that way either. Why? Am I supposed to grind 35 levels after the end of the game to reach this stuff? And why are the gold chests so expensive if you are given the ability to and presumably ment to lvl your gear to 99? Most of my gear only got to ~lvl 25. There is a huge empty gap between lvl 65 and lvl 100 to gain the last few side quests and still a lvl 200 cave beyond that. I wasn't complaining about the difficulty (I think the difficulty is just about right for this kind of game), only that there are obvious things in the game that are only reachable through a lot of grinding that wasn't present up until the end of the quest chains and that the presented options for further game play don't quite make sense. I know I can roll over gear with a mew game and loose the challenge reward, it just seems like an unsatisfactory solution, especially since there is no way to skip quest dialog and I've read it all before.īut anyway, I love the game and I really hope there is DLC coming to close this gap. Mew game has you starting over from the beginning with a difficulty modifier and New Game + lets you roll over your gear but the mobs don't scale so there is no challange. There doesn't seem to be a reasonable way to unlock this stuff, especially in comparison to how fun and easy-going the initial campaign went. I never had more than a few k in the bank and it seemed better to spend it on magic upgrades than a single gear box that may or may not give me gear I could use. There are a few things I could try to mop up but do I really want to grind a bunch to level up (to lvl 100 or even 200?) to do those things? I never even got close to having any lvl 99 gear and the gold chests cost 5000g when the most reward I got for any quest was ~500g. I absolutely adored the game I've played so far, but I just feel like it leads you to expect something that doesn't manifest. It seems like there should be a 2nd phase to the main game with new quests and scaled up monsters/rewards but it's just not there. I don't want to talk about spoilers so I'll just say it seems to be a huge cliffhanger. So now what? I feel like it hinted at more game but there's no new quests or monsters.
